Winter is fast approaching, and with Aussie resorts not getting much attention in the last two years, it's very likely your snow gear hasn't either. If it's time for a new snowboard jacket, you're in the right place. Here is a list of the best 2022/2023 snowboard jackets to keep you warm, dry, and looking fast on the mountain.
This super light-weight and packable jacket from Burton’s technical range is the ultimate piece of snowboarding equipment. The fabric on this jacket has a stretch to it, making it move with your body, while its 3L GoreTex membrane makes it waterproof and breathable. Technical pockets on the front of the jacket are designed with splitboarding in mind and are perfect for any accessories you want to carry with you throughout the day.

Volcom is bringing back an old design and making it truly new again. The Brighton Jacket is a pullover style with a 15k waterproof rating and Volcom's V-Science lining system for maximum breathability. The Brighton Pullover also features a dual entry kangaroo pouch and zip-tech to connect your jacket to your pants to keep the snow out.
Volcom has brought back the L-Gore Jacket for another year with a new print fabric and all the same great features. The L-Gore uses Volcom’s V-Science breathable lining system to give you excellent weather protection that breathes with your body to eliminate heat draining sweat. This lightweight jacket is perfect for layering and has fully taped seams to keep you dry in wet weather. Like all other technical jackets from Volcom, the L-Gore Tex Jacket has the Zip-Tech interface so that you can connect your pants to your jacket.
The Frostner Anorak from Burton combines a rider-driven fit and retro style. This cozy pullover jacket will keep you warm with a thin fleece lining and 10k Dryride shell. The Frostner is great for Aussie conditions and riders that want to throw on something quick. The front pocket is perfect for snacks, car keys, and even has a dedicated pass pocket.
The anorak trend is popular this year, with Oakley adding their take on a technical insulated anorak. The Oakley TNP Insulated Anorak is a lightweight pullover jacket with helmet compatibility, mesh underarm vents and adjustable cuffs to ensure optimum comfort in any climate. In true Oakley style, it looks sleek but has several technical features. Oakley has used 3M Thinsulate insulation paired with a 10k laminate to keep you dry all day. They have also included a powder skirt and hem cinch so there will be no snow getting into your pants. Oakley has added an RFID pass pocket for a technical edge to top it off.
The Fern Pullover from Volcom adds another pullover-style jacket to the list. The Fern, however, is slightly more technical than the men's version and features a tapered cut for a flattering fit. The Fern Pullover uses Gore-Tex technology for high levels of waterproofing and breathability. It also has 80/60g of insulation to keep the ladies warm on cold days.
Burton's AK 2L Upshift Jacket is a high-performance women's jacket with a smart lining to help retain and maintain body temperature. It features a storm hood designed to block out snow and wind without blocking your vision and uses Gore-Tex 2L technology to keep you dry and warm all day long. This technical jacket is a shell with a taffeta fleece lining, so it's perfect for riders who layer up.
The Kimmy Anorak is the ultimate bad weather jacket. This lightweight shell uses Gore-Tex 2L shell technology to make it super waterproof and breathable. You could even wear it as a raincoat. It has a slightly looser fit with a slight taper at the waist and has all the technical elements of a great all-mountain jacket.
Billabong has entered the anorak game with a figure-hugging, technical pullover for the ladies. Thie Passage Jacket is made with a recycled 2L fabric and a 15k waterproof rating to make it breathable and water repellent. It zips up under the armpit, so it's easy to throw on and get riding. The Passage Anorak features a Primaloft insulating liner to keep you toasty on cold days while allowing your skin to breathe still. It’s one of the brightest jackets in the range this year, so choose the Passage Anorak if you want to stand out on the hill.
The L1 Lalena jacket is your go-to jacket for going out on the town or heading down the mountain. L1 has produced a jacket with street style and technical features like 20K waterproofing and recycled polyester insulation. So you will be warm, dry, and able to go from the slops to the apres without getting changed.
