Forged out of the Californian slopes, this brand was launched by board-obsessed founder, Michael Akira West. Since stepping on a skateboard in the eighties, Mike has been obsessed with board-based sports, switching to snowboards in later years.
Since launching his own brand in 1992 from a project started at the University of Southern California, Mike has been designing insulated 686 snowboard clothing based on Californian skiing culture.
Designed and launched with Los Angeles street culture in mind, Mike’s hands-on business model has seen the company thrive overseas with year-round snow gear collections.
686 prides itself on quality base-layers, and innovative SMARTY® snowboard jacket and pant designs. Its bright designs incorporate the brands’ LA roots, while its insulated technical equipment stems from the surrounding peaks.

We offer Free Standard Shipping Australia Wide for all orders over $99. We will use the most efficient shipping method available to your area with most items being shipped within 48 hours.
Please note, we no longer accept shipments to Parcel Lockers unless paid for using PayPal, Zip Pay, or Bank Deposit.

Returns Policy:
- Online purchases can be returned for refund or exchange within 30 days from the original purchase date.
- In-store purchases can be returned for exchange or store credit within 14 days from the original purchase date.
- Items must be presented in their original, unworn, unused, re-sellable condition with product tags attached.
- Products sealed for hygiene reasons (e.g. swimwear, underwear, watches, and jewellery) must have seals intact.
- Proof of purchase is required
- Drill-mounted skis purchased in store or online are not accepted for refund/return.
- The return shipping costs are not covered by us, unless there was a shipment error.
