    Product Description

The Mammut Alugator Pro Light Hoe is a high-performance avalanche shovel built for backcountry skiers and ski tourers who demand reliable, fast-deploying rescue equipment in avalanche terrain. The tiltproof, hardened anodised aluminium blade pairs with an ergonomically shaped D-grip to deliver maximum stability and force transfer during sustained shovelling, while the oval telescopic shaft with automatic spring lock allows rapid, precise assembly under pressure. What sets the Alugator Pro Light Hoe apart is its variable shaft positioning that converts the shovel into a 90-degree hoe or pick, enabling the T-grip excavation technique that significantly speeds up victim extraction. The straight blade back also doubles as a snow profile cutter, and integrated attachment holes support use as a snow anchor or rescue sled component, making this one of the most versatile UIAA 156-certified shovels available.

    Features
    • UIAA 156 certified avalanche shovel standard — meets internationally recognised safety benchmarks for rescue equipment
    • Hardened, anodised aluminium blade with stabilisation ribs — resists flex and torsion under heavy shovelling loads
    • Tiltproof, sharpened blade with integrated steps — allows foot pressure to drive the blade into compacted avalanche debris
    • Variable shaft positioning converts shovel to 90-degree hoe or pick — enables the T-grip technique for faster victim extraction
    • Automatic spring lock on oval telescopic shaft — enables one-handed, quick and precise assembly in emergency conditions
    • Straight blade back — cuts clean, straight snow profiles for avalanche safety assessment in the field
    • Attachment holes for snow anchor and rescue sled — extends functionality beyond shovelling into broader rescue scenarios
    • Blade width 24 cm, blade length 27.5 cm, extended length 90 cm, collapsed length 68 cm, weight 675 g
