    Product Description

The Mammut Probe 240 Short is a compact aluminium avalanche probe built for backcountry skiers and splitboarders who need reliable victim-location capability in their rescue kit. The telescopic lock tensioning system deploys quickly and holds firm under repeated probing, while the drop-shaped tip reduces resistance in dense snow to conserve energy during extended searches. A one-sided depth scale gives searchers immediate burial-depth readings without repositioning, and the practical probe cover includes an integrated emergency plan so critical rescue steps are always on hand. At 280 g and collapsing to just 38 cm, the Probe 240 Short carries UIAA standard 157 certification and sits at the compact end of Mammut's avalanche probe range without sacrificing the 240 cm reach needed to probe realistically deep burials.

    Features
    • Telescopic lock tensioning system deploys fast and stays rigid under repeated probing force, reducing fumble time in a rescue
    • Drop-shaped probe tip displaces less snow on each insertion, lowering the physical effort required during prolonged searches
    • One-sided depth scale gives an immediate burial-depth reading the moment the probe contacts a victim
    • Durable aluminium segments provide a stable, lightweight probe shaft that resists bending under hard snow conditions
    • High-strength tensile tensioning cord maintains probe rigidity across the full 240 cm extended length
    • Glove-compatible design allows full assembly and operation without removing hand protection in cold conditions
    • Integrated emergency plan on the probe cover keeps avalanche rescue protocol accessible during a high-stress event
    • Collapsed length 38 cm, extended length 240 cm, diameter 12.75 mm, weight 280 g — UIAA standard 157 certified
